Movie Explain
The story starts with Dr. Robert Lane’s character, who is inside a divorced high-rise building. There is blood on his body. Here they are cooking a dog on fire. It is still not clear what is happening and the story is now shown from three months ago when everything was fine. Here a big 40 storey tower of London is shown whose name is High Rise. This tower is built for special people who want modern living style. In the top floor of the tower, rich people live on the top floor and common people live on the lower floor.
That means the richest people on the fourth floor. On the third line, everyone less rich than them and in similar ending order, live on their own floors. All the facilities of the world are available here such as swimming pool, gym, supermarket and there is also a school for the children so that they do not have to go out and all these people live largely isolated from the rest of the world. In this tower, Dr. Robert shifts to the fifth floor of this tower, who is very happy because he gets to live a good life. Here he also meets a single mother who also has a son. Robert and this single mother. Both become attached to each other in a very short time.
Apart from this, Dr. Robert also becomes friends with Richard Wilder, who is a documentary filmmaker. Dr. Robert is a physiology teacher. When he is teaching in his class by cutting a human head, a student becomes unconscious after seeing this and that student is sent for brain scan. The next day, Doctor Robert is called to meet Anthony Royal in the story. Which means that this tower, where the richest people live, is designed by the royals. Here the royal’s wife is also shown who does not give much importance to anyone.
But the doctor invites Robert to come to the party she is throwing in a few days. Now the day of the party arrives. This party is designed on the century costume theme, which means that everyone has to come dressed in 18th century fashion and so it happens. Doctor Robert comes dressed in his daily routine because he was not aware of the party theme. Seeing Dr. Robert’s everyday suit, Royal’s wife and other party guests feel very bad and also strange. Apart from this, Royal’s wife and the same student of his who had fallen unconscious during class also insult Doctor Robert a lot.

They are abused and the doctor is thrown out of the party. After being thrown out from the party, Dr. Robert goes inside the lift but due to a power failure, he gets stuck in the same lift. Through Royal, we also come to know that in the last few days, electricity, load shedding, water stoppage and even the pipes carrying garbage are not working properly and all such problems are becoming very common. The story progresses and the medical report of Dr. Robert’s student who fainted comes back perfectly fine. Nothing would have happened to him, but Dr. Robert takes revenge by convincing him that he has a brain tumor.
The doctor says this because his student also insulted him a lot on the night of the party. That means we see Doctor Robert. The same student of his, under the influence of drink, commits suicide by jumping from the ninth floor. The police also come but do not investigate the matter much. So Dr. Robert’s friend Richard Wilder feels very sad and he thinks that now he has to somehow bring the atrocities happening inside the high-rise i.e. this building in front of everyone and stop it. Now no one goes out or inside the high-rise building.
Law and order ends completely and crime becomes common in high rises. The food available inside the supermarket also starts becoming scarce. That means the dosage also becomes very less due to which people start fighting among themselves. On one hand, it is also suspected that Royal might have bribed the police so that all this disorder is ignored and the news happening in this building does not get leaked anywhere. On the other hand, Dr. Robert is ashamed of his actions in telling the false news to his student that he has a brain tumor.
Doctors have now become mentally ill to a great extent and lock themselves in their rooms. He calls himself guilty. He becomes mentally stable. The builder plans to kill Royal. Royal is the same person who designed this building. The builder also feels that Royal is behind this whole matter and when he goes to kill him, the builder learns that Royal also has a son, about whom the world does not know. The builder barely reaches Royal’s penthouse and shoots him, killing him. Royal dies and the builder is also shot by a girl present there.
In this way two deaths occur here. Royal’s son is watching all this. The entire tower is secretly creating chaos. People are fighting with each other. Some are after dose, some are after revenge. All people are full of hatred. Those with small building floors are killing those with big floors, that is, the poor are killing the rich and the rich are killing the poor. The film now comes to the same place from where it started. When Doctor Robert is present inside the destroyed high tower building. Doctor Robert appears completely mentally unstable.
Their mental concentration has completely deteriorated. He is talking to himself and the story ends here. But what lesson do we learn from this story or what is its explanation? Writers say that where there is state capitalism there can never be political freedom.
